Venue Spotlight: "The Redd on Salmon" - An Industrial Wedding Venue, Where Edgy Meets Romantic

Updated: Jan 30

The Redd on Salmon Street is located in Portland's SE Industrial District. It's former 1918 foundry's metal stamping "green machine" press creates a stunning, industrial-chic backdrop for your Portland wedding.

Previously, The Redd on Salmon once housed one of Portland's staple industries: the Hesse-Ersted Ironworks foundy. It was built in 1918 and is situated in the vibrant Central Eastside Industrial District of Portland. This neighborhood boasts a robust industrial legacy dating back to the mid-1800s. The seamless import and export of food and durable goods through both railroad and river connections gave rise to a flourishing fruit and vegetable market on a nearby street that's still known as "Produce Row."

With its 900 tons of pressure, the massive, green stamping steel machine was used to bend and shape metal. Today, this glorious and oddly beautiful devise remains in place as a reminder of Portland's past.

If you are looking for the perfect industrial wedding venue for your edgy but chic wedding, The Redd on Salmon is it! According to The Knot, "The Main Hall can accommodate weddings of up to 450 guests for seated dining service or 670 for a cocktail reception. Its 8,000 square feet of space is ideal for hosting large events, though it can be sectioned off to suit small gatherings. Outside, the plaza and patio can be used separately or together. The patio is ideal for rehearsal dinners or farewell brunches of 50 guests, or even ceremonies of up to 75 attendees. The plaza boasts 22,000 square feet, making it suitable for tremendous events of 1,000 guests. It is also available for seated weddings of 600."
