Planning a Company Picnic?

Remember those?

Employees, friends, colleagues, and families just having the time of their lives! Is your company planning a picnic? I think they should!

Last summer I had the privilege of attending Premiere Property Group's Summer Picnic in Willamette Park, located in West Linn, Oregon. What a flashback! A wave of nostalgia washed over me and brought me right back to when I was a kid attending my dad's company picnics... A live band, drinks, great food and games... Everyone was bonding, playing games together, singing, dancing, unwinding and just having a good ol' time together. The focus was on fun and connection.

Why is it important to keep that tradition going?

1. Team Building

Company picnics provide a relaxed environment where employees can bond outside of the usual work setting. This helps to strengthen relationships and improve teamwork, fostering a sense of community within the workplace.

2. Employee Morale

These events can significantly boost employee morale. A day away from the office allows staff to unwind and enjoy themselves, which can lead to increased job satisfaction and productivity upon returning to work.

3. Recognition and Appreciation

Picnics are an excellent opportunity for companies to show appreciation for their employees' hard work. Recognizing achievements in a fun setting reinforces loyalty and motivation.

4. Networking Opportunities

Employees from different departments often interact during company picnics, facilitating networking and collaboration. This can lead to new ideas and innovations that benefit the organization as a whole.

5. Nostalgia and Tradition

Company picnics often evoke a sense of nostalgia, harkening back to simpler times when gatherings were a staple of corporate life. Many employees may recall fond memories of past picnics, creating a sense of continuity and tradition within the company.

Thinking of planning a company picnic next year?

Keep it simple, but make it memorable.

Think about hiring the following to make your company picnic amazing:

  • Food Trucks

  • Drink Cart

  • Face Painter

  • Yard Game Rentals (ring toss, Connect 4, Jenga, cornhole)

  • Vintage Trailer Photo Booth

  • Local Cover Band

SMILE. Pass it on...
