Till Death Do We Part: A Real Woodland Gothic Wedding

Some weddings stay with you long after the last song fades—and this woodland gothic wedding was one of them for me.

The color palette told its own story—deep green accents paired with black details created a rich, dark fairytale setting. Décor included longhorn cow skulls, dried flowers, bark, ferns, furs, pinecones and drippy candles that glowed against the tablescapes, adding just the right touch of dark romance.

The bride began the evening in an romantic and modern, white, lacy gown, but as the reception kicked off, she made a dramatic switch into a gothic look: a black tulle skirt paired with a leather jacket and sneakers. It was a bold, effortless statement that fit the night’s vibe - the couple's vibe - perfectly.

From my perspective, the contrasts were incredible: the bride’s sheer, lacy white dress vs. her all-black, goth-rock reception look; the softness of the ferns & fur alongside the edgy skull & dark green déco; the flickering candlelight, adding just the right hint of mystery. Every element worked together to create a wedding that was playful, stylish, and unapologetically unique.

It was a reminder that some of the best weddings aren’t just about tradition or trends—they’re about designing a celebration that truly reflects you. And this one? Simple, pure magic.
